Reviews: Hotel Mandarin Oriental, Singapore

Susangermany - Review  “Perfect, but....” : We like the Mandarin Oriental! The staff is helpful, friendly ! The atmosphere is very nice! Just the housekeeping / room cleaning needs improvement. 2.15 pm is too late for cleaning and this was only after two reminders! It took only less than 15 minutes to clean, why not employ ONE more person for the short time cleaning?

SuffolkBert - Reviews: “Superb Hotel” : We stayed here twice last month. For one day on the way to Bali from the UK and for 4 days on the way back. The hotel is terrific. It is centrally located at Marina Bay with public transport nearby. The rooms are a very good size and well equipped. We asked for a quiet room on a high floor...

Jenncherngshia Reviews -“Still best in class but disapointing with pool”: My second time visiting this hotel. Still, doubtless, absolutely best in class. It was pity that the swimming pool water was turbid when I went to swim. A great view from the pool but disappointed with the water quality

Food is good but very expensive but easy to find quality restaurants with much lower cost in the connected Marina Square mall

ElleEve: “Lovely hotel Great service ”

Overall service in this hotel is one of the best ever experienced - from reception, concierge, pool, bar, breakfast.

Will definitely visit again for :
1. Location & view - when in Singapore, I like to be in the Marina area: close to some of the best restaurants&malls, close to the bay
2. Service / service in Mandarin Oriental is of a complete different and higher level compared to other 5* hotels. Very personal, efficient, of great quality
3. Lovely rooms - only downside: the beds are not that good (in my opinion, very soft)
4. Breakfast - one of the best hotel breakfast ever experienced with tremendous options & best quality & amazing service - only terrace to have breakfast is a bit of a disappointment (no real views)
5. Pool area - booked this hotel for its pool area : it is in the heart of Sing but a lovely place to relax. Service is unbelievable : always paying attention to the needs of their guests - they fill your glass every 15min with cold water - they bring around small glasses with smoothies, juices, ... Pool area is kept incredibly clean - manager does as great job.
6. Gym is amazing - all equipment needed; nice gym area; great service as well!
7. Overall a very beautiful hotel area - impressive building

Reviews: Raffles Hotel Singapore

Raffles Hotel Singapore

Raffles Hotel Singapore is the flagship property of Raffles Hotels & Resorts. Opened in 1887, it is one of the few remaining great 19th century hotels in the world.

Housed in a beautifully restored colonial building, the iconic Raffles Hotel provides a relaxing getaway in the heart of the city. The luxurious hotel boasts a choice of 14 dining options and a shopping arcade. Union Pay is accepted here.

Reviews: Raffles Hotel Singapore

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from City Hall MRT Station and Raffles City Shopping Centre. It is also just a 10-minute train ride from the popular Orchard, the city's shopping hub, while the Singapore Flyer is a 7-minute drive away.

Boasting spacious interiors, suites come with antique furnishings, fine oriental carpets and teak wood flooring. They have free WiFi and come with a verandah, a cable TV with international and Chinese channels, and separate dining, bedroom and dressing areas. The en suite bathrooms come with free toiletries, toothbrush, toothpaste and slippers.

Pampering body treatments are available at the Raffles Spa, while a fitness centre allows guests to work out. Other facilities include a Victorian-style theatre, where performances are staged. Guests can enjoy the luxury of 24-hour butler service and an outdoor pool with bar. Friendly staff are fluent in languages that include English, Malay, Chinese and Japanese.

A wide variety of dining options including French, Western, Asian, Chinese and fusion cuisines are available at the hotel. The legendary Singapore Sling is available at the hotel’s Long Bar. The Tiffin Room, adjacent to the lobby, continues as the traditional main dining area. The Raffles Grill is an elegant fine dining room, while the Writers Bar continues to pay tribute to the novelists and travel writers who have become part of the Raffles Hotel legend.

Ken-B: Review: “Outstanding Colonial Calm”

- I have visited Singapore many times both for business and pleasure. Having only visited the Raffles for lunch it was on my bucket list as i love to stay in the old world style hotels. We booked a junior suite for 4 days which is reasonably expensive but from the moment you arrive and until you leave the experience is first class! They check you in like you are royalty and the ambiance surround by beautiful gardens you feel like you staying on an old planation mansion with a group of old friends . You completely forget the hustle and bustle of the major city surrounding you and you can relax and enjoy feeling like you are staying with Raffles himself .

Paul H: Review: Raffles - A Short Stay Holiday Experience”

- Overall an excellent Hotel experience. The levels of service and attention to detail were second to none. Food generally was very good although our dining experience at the Raffles Grill was at best average. Breakfast and dinner at the Raffles Courtyard on the other hand were considered an overall better dining experience.

Jean H: Review: "Heavenly perfection"

What is there to say about the mythical Raffles..?
This new visit was exactly as expected, perfect. There is not really anything bad to say about this place. It is indeed one of the "grande old dames" of the East, conjuring the souvenirs of another era.

What sets the Raffles really in a different category is service, which is really outstanding yet always very warm. Professional without being rigid.

For sure there are probably more modern places in Singapore, but modernity is not what you seek here. It is all about atmosphere and service, and a certain sense of comfort.

Definitely worth visiting on a regular basis!
For once, a hotel lives up to its motto of "being your home away from home"

Hi All,

Travel Details: 4 Adults and 1 Kid (3.5 years)

Day 1

Since we arrive by afternoon, we plan to do Night Safari on the same day. Travel by Taxi. Have planned to book taxi via Grabtaxi or pick it up on the road. Assuming a taxi in Singapore allows 4 adults and 1 kid to travel.

Day 2

Visit Sentosa (Full Day). Plan to visit the same through MRT to an Fro. We are buying Ez Link Card for all of us for MRT travel and 7-11 purchases.

Day 3

Jurong Bird Park. Travel by Taxi.Evening for Leisure and Clark Quay

Day 4

Universal Studios and SEA. (Full Day). Travel by MRT.

Want help on the below:

- We are confused about Singapore Zoo & River Safari, if we should do that, if so how do we squeeze it in on the above.

- We do not want to make it too tiring for the kid. Hence taking it easy.

- Is Ez link Card a good option (plan to pick it up at the airport). Is Ezlink card accepted by Taxis (If so any particular one) and by Sentosa Cable Car.

- Keeping weather and kid in mind, we are not purchasing any tickets for an sight seeing places. Plan to purchase the same online or through Asia Travel a day before the travel.

- Purchasing SIngtel Normal Sim from the Airport.

We would really appreciate if we can get some help to modify the plan if required in any way.

Thank you.

Reviews: Oasia Hotel Novena, Singapore by Far East Hospitality

Reviews: Oasia Hotel Novena, Singapore by Far East Hospitality

Raphael T - review: Great hotel”

- This is a way long overdue review for my stay at this hotel but the memories still remain fresh at the back of my head. To keep the story short, had held my event on 20th Feb 2016 at Oasia Hotel Courtyard. The ambience to this place is pretty warmth to the heart and comfortable. Really had an enjoyable night with great help from start till end by Jacqueline, Peter, Dhang and Razali. Awesome service. Had the suite room stay for my event package and I must say its awesome. Smart home system, great city view from level 24, outstanding cleaniness, convenient location which was walking distance from Mrt and Novena Square and definitely cost worthy.

Had 2 downside was that I could not extend my suite stay for a much special rate as i was totally drained from my event the night before that I could not enjoy any of the facilities the hotel provides the next day prior to checkout. Another would be the limited breakfast spread which would be better had the selections been more varied.

However all in all, Oasia Hotel is a great hotel and I would definitely recommend it to others.

ThePrincelyTraveller - reviews: “Pleasant room and good location ”

As a couple we enjoyed a short weekend retreat. Rooms are modern design and well appointed despite being smaller in size.

One thing I appreciated was the strength of the air conditioning as the daytime temperatures were very warm. Sometimes we find hotel systems are overwhelmed in Asia but not this one.

Conveniently located adjacent to Velocity and Square2 malls and several high quality healthcare facilities.

damayantis2016 - review: “Great location,great service for a staycation!”

Wife and I were supposed to have a staycation at a certain Accor Hotel in Sentosa but were told to wait for a possible further 1.5-2hrs (with no guarantees!) more for our room to be ready when we have already waited an hour past the official check-in time. We requested for a full refund and promptly booked ourselves into Oasia Hotel Novena within an hour of leaving that sorry 'hotel'. World of a difference! Check-in was smooth. Elfie and team's warm welcome at The Living Room was amazing. What blew me away was they remembered us from our recently stay and greeted us by name at breakfast! Service at The Living Room was personal and attentive without being intrusive. Hat-tip to the management team and the front line staff. Thank you!

Mar66a - reviews: “Nice hotel above Novena MRT”

I enjoyed my stay for 5 nights at Oasia. Checked in was quick and got upgraded to deluxe room (level 18) and late check out which is awesome. This hotel is located above Novena MRT (only 2 stops to Orchard road), next to a shopping mall and a hospital. Room was nice & clean. Bed was comfortable. Pool was nice. Wifi was free and strong. Staff was friendly & helpful. Overall, I was so pleased that I chose to stay at this hotel. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Singapore.

FilzaIzzati - reviews : “AMAZINGGGG.”

I'd say this is one of the best hotels I ever booked for! Although I booked for a Superior room, everything is just so satisfying!

Check in was smooth with pleasant receptionists. Location wise, definitely convenient as it is less than 5 minutes walking distance to Novena MRT via Velocity shopping centre (or else, the lift in the hotel also can get you straight to Novena MRT station!).

Room wise, PERFECTTTTT. Its pretty huge. A weighing scale just below the bathroom sink amuses me due to the fact that this is the first hotel that I have been that provides weighing scale in every room LOL.

One tip is fork out a little for a Club room to enjoy the club privileges (recommended by a friend). There is a dinner buffet and free flow alcohol from 6pm - 8pm. Also, the swimming pool at Club floor is wayyyyy beautiful.

Overall, will definitely come back for the Club room next!

Which transit hotels have access to the pool at Changi?

Selina T: Which transit hotels have access to the pool at Changi?

My husband and I have a 10 hour layover in Singapore in December, flying into and out of Terminal 3 and we are definitely going to book into one of the airport's transit hotels. One of us is keen to use the swimming pool while we are there. Should we book into the transit hotel at Terminal 1, or can we book into the Terminal 3 hotel and still use the pool? The reviews suggest there isn't much else to choose between the different transit hotels, but any tips from anyone who has used the T3 and T1 hotels would be appreciated. Thank you.
